INVENTORY CONTROL OF BOLTS, NUTS, RIVETS, SCREWS, AND SEALS USING DISCRETE SIMULATION AND EXCEL SOLVER (GENETIC ALGORITHM) IN THE UNIT OUTBOUND PT AVIA TECHNICS DIRGANTARA

PT Avia Technics Dirgantara is a company engaged in aircraft Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO). This study focuses on the phenomenon of urgent shipments that occur repeatedly in the Outbound Unit, particularly domestic PLB shipments destined for FL Technics Denpasar, which result in logistics cost inefficiencies due to the use of shipping services with minimum charge rates that are not utilized optimally. This study uses a discrete simulation method combined with optimization using Excel Solver based on a Genetic Algorithm to determine the optimal procurement interval and shipment quantity. The results show that the proposed model is able to reduce total costs by 0.93% compared to actual conditions, with the largest savings coming from shipping costs, which account for 66% of the total actual shipping costs, making the method effective in improving the efficiency of inventory control and shipping operations.
